As a person in long-term recovery, Joseph has over 24 years of experience with the 12-Step approach. He has had the opportunity to work with extremely resistant clients suffering from substance abuse disorder. Joseph has a passion for helping others in recovery and goes beyond the traditional methods. He realizes that what works well for some may not work well for all. Joseph’s life experience has given him empathy for those with addictions.
Joseph has experience with various 12-Step recovery programs and is also a SMART Recovery facilitator. He is currently working towards the Certified Case Management Interventionist (CCMI) credential through the Breining Institute.
Joseph is a member of the Mental Health Association of Okaloosa and Walton Counties, Florida and the winner of the 2017 Outstanding Peer Support Specialist Award. A member of the Association of Intervention Specialists, he is also an associate at Emerald Coast Collaborative Solutions in Mary Esther, Florida. Joseph’s work has been featured in “Interventionist Helps Others on the Road to Recovery,” an article featured in Northwest Florida Daily News (June 21, 2015).
A veteran of the United States Air Force, Joseph spent 20 years serving his country. During that time, he was deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Joseph is passionate about Veteran’s issues and hopes to continue helping those who struggle with addiction. Married with three children and 5 cats, he enjoys yoga, martial arts, cycling, running, golf, and reading.
