Our program starts with addiction recovery case management, and case management generally begins with planning an intervention and subsequent addiction treatment. We manage the plan for recovery from its first stages, helping family members sort through the options for drug and alcohol detox as well as rehabilitation programs.

Ongoing drug and alcohol testing is suggested in the aftercare portion of every case we manage. Why? Because those that comply with ongoing testing openly admit to having an easier time resisting temptations that could quickly turn into addiction relapse.
Evidence has shown that 79 percent of physicians and professionals enrolled in a drug and alcohol monitoring program continue their sobriety. This rate of drug testing success can also mirror the success rate in aftercare drug and alcohol testing.
Many interventionists try to play therapist and clinician while adding on family recovery and coaching services. None of these interventionists is qualified or licensed to do that. Interventionists must stay in their lane after the person accepts help. The best outcomes come from your loved one’s treatment team and the treatment center’s family program. If you choose an interventionist who offers support services after a successful intervention, it will create friction and discrepancies in your loved one’s treatment; we have gone down that road, and it does not work.

No, drug & alcohol testing is not a sign of lack of trust. Rather, it is the establishment of accountability and a promise that support for the individual and their sobriety is still present.
The type of and criteria for the analysis is decided upon by the individual, the family and the case manager. Urinalysis, blood test, breathalyzer, PEth test, fingernail or hair follicle tests are all options that all parties should consider.
The frequency of tests will depend on the type of test to be taken, and the frequency will be agreed upon by case manager. It should be noted that an analysis of urine will be easier and less time intensive than blood tests, and this should be considered when deciding on frequency.
All of the drug testing will be performed by trusted professional testing representatives, and processing will be done in a laboratory environment. The latest scientifically and legally backed testing criteria will be used. Thanks to modern techniques, the chance of false drug positives are rare, and alcohol can be detected in urine for 5 to 7 days following consumption.
One of the biggest benefits of drug testing in aftercare is the opportunity for correction that is created in the case of a positive test. In these cases, relapse can be detected almost immediately and will allow the problem to be addressed quickly.
Addressing relapse can be beneficial to the individual, as it invites communication as to what caused the relapse, what issues the individual is facing in sobriety, and how those issues can fixed. Without the testing, a relapse can be missed and this opportunity could be lost.
